Students demonstrate understanding of what is a biome and how they differ from each other. Grades: For elementary or middle school students At the moment I am keeping things simple, in the future I would like to incorporate more science lessons in geology, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc.

Now with all the available mods out there I can no longer leave the idea on the shelf.

This biomes project has been in the planning stage for some time as my focus has been mainly on reinforcing grade 2 -5 math concepts (distance, measurement, fractions, arithmetic, equations and problem solving). When I first encountered Minecraft my first thought was how useful it would be in teaching earth sciences. I am putting together a biomes activity to teach ecology and conservation with these mods. I have included information about all of the mods along with links to the original files. Only Biomes o’ Plently needs a bit of setup to get working, but it’s well worth the extra couple of steps. Installation instructions are included with the zip files.ĭownload the Server.zip and Client.zip from here:įor the most part it is an easy install, just copy and paste into the mod folders. Here are some mods that work well with MinecraftEdu.
